Innovation is viewed as the application of an invention to meet a perceived need. The burden of proof lies on the innovator to prove the value of their work. The questions become “Will the innovative solution have a positive impact on information technology that is far-reaching and possibly affect the quality of our lives?” and “ Can innovation be measured?” Many believe that innovation and creativity cannot be measured. If the two cannot be measured, the struggle to gain respect will never end.

Creativity can never be harnessed. Without creativity, innovation cannot flourish. Without creativity, compelling new technologies that have relevance on where information technology is heading can never be developed. The impact of BIG ideas changing our world becomes obsolete.

Industry partners will discuss innovations related to those BIG ideas capable of changing our world as we know it today. They will acquaint the audience with some of the innovative activities in their labs with their research team(s). During this discussion, participants will understand how these innovative activities impact how we do business, live, and become sustainable.
